Solution Focused Therapy
Solution focused brief therapy focuses on what a client wants to achieve through therapy, rather than on their problems or mental health issues in the past. It focuses on the issues that are presenting now and works with the client to find strategies and techniques to overcome difficulties, a crisis or on personal development goals.
It focuses on the client’s strengths as they are designed to empower the client to achieve their goals and reach self-actualisation.
The counsellor will help the client design SMART goals and create a plan to together for client to achieve them. The counsellor encourages the client to build their strengths, look for exceptions where they’ve done it, rather than dwell on their past, problems or limitations.
We can’t change the past, but you can create a new future starting from today. Sometimes you need someone to believe in you or awaken your potential that lies within. You are stronger than you think.
